McLachlan Family Maple Syrup & Pancake House: Reviews & Ratings
Situated along a rural road, this is one of those hole-in-the-wall places where there's no advertising but everyone knows it's the best in town. It's a maple syrup farm with a large dining hall, a small maple syrup store and a decent sized play area for kids just behind. There are cool exhibits outside that show a bit of the history of the farm and the maple syrup process. Let's not forget the wagon ride. It's a $1 per person. Staff are nice, homely and makes it feel like it's family owned. The decor of the dining hall is rustic with many tongue-in-cheek signs. You have to see them in person. The breakfast isn't cheap at about $15+ but it does give very large portions. The maple baked beans were my favorite followed by a tie of the 3 large pancakes and large sausage. It also comes with hash browns, ham and canned fruit syrup on the side. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate or an orangeade are right after the serving counter. I have to say that the maple syrup is light but very very good. I can't go back to the store kind anymore. PS: You have to arrive early to avoid the crowds! We came on a wet and rainy day, and there were still lines of cars about 25 long before the destination.
A Taste of Canadian Magic Breakfast on a weekend during the Sugar bush season at McLachlan Family Maple Syrup & Pancake House is nothing short of magical. It's a true celebration of Canadian flavors, where every bite is elevated by the rich, golden goodness of triple-A grade maple syrup. The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, and the entire experience feels wholesome and heartwarming. It's wonderful to see so many smiling faces, both staff and patrons, all sharing in the joy of a truly special meal. Beyond the incredible breakfast, McLachlan's offers a glimpse into the art of maple syrup production with their visitor tours. You can witness the process firsthand and learn about the tradition behind this iconic Canadian treat. The restaurant also features dedicated spaces showcasing memorabilia, adding to the charming and rustic atmosphere. And of course, no visit is complete without stocking up on their exceptional maple syrup and BBQ sauce – the perfect way to take a piece of the McLachlan's magic home with you. If you're looking for a truly authentic and unforgettable Canadian breakfast experience, look no further than McLachlan Family Maple Syrup & Pancake House.
Love the place my girl enjoyed spending time there. Brunch set for kids was nice. Free refills for drinks ( coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate and orange juice) There are wagon rider for $1, prepare coin or you can get a change in pancakes house.
We have come here with our grandchildren for years. There is lots of parking and room for lots of people. They have the best sausages ever. And a wagon ride to boot. Lots of entertaining stuff to read on the walls too. Well done McLachlan family !!
This is the real deal. An authentic Canadian experience. Great place for families and kids. Lots to see and do. Beautiful maple syrup. Friendly staff. Clean dining room.
It was a great breakfast. All fresh made!!! Coffee was good. The juice was good my son loved it. The staff was very friendly!! They were really helpful. Loved that the lady I could only assume was the manager was so caring on how the area was due to my son being in a wheelchair. If I could rate out of ten instead of five it be a ten out ten. We will be back with my wife.
A true taste of Canada! I have been coming here since I was a child and now we make it a yearly thing with my own children. Great brunch and love that you’re eating at a big table with others. The owner walks around and chats and there is lots to see and do outside to learn about how sap is gathered and turned into syrup. My kids especially love the little play area. This is a tradition we will be carrying on for years to come.
Great Canadian atmosphere! Lots to look at all around! Walk the maple trails, take in the beauty of nature! Play equipment for the kids to run & play. The teeter-totter was even fun for us adults! You really feel like you’re down on the farm here! Enjoy the wonderful pancakes with copious amounts of delicious made maple syrup! Huge bottles of dark syrup provided on the tables. Large size portions! It’s not unusual to see children from schools here. A very busy place! ~The washrooms are like an outhouse. They have a sink to wash your hands…butt beware the toilet seat is cold Lots of maple syrup options. Amber or dark syrup was available, in different sizes for your maple syrup craving desire. We also picked up some maple sugar and maple toffee for the kids at home.
